On the 25th of September, Sonicon Construction participated as an exhibitor at International Seminar on Forensics in Engineering (ISOF) 2025, hosted by the Center Of Excellence For Technology And Engineering (CREaTE) Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR). The event gathered engineers, researchers, and industry experts to strengthen the role of forensic engineering in ensuring safer and more resilient infrastructure across Malaysia.

Forensic engineering plays a vital role in understanding why structures fail, and more importantly, how to prevent those failures. Sonicon believes that smarter technology is key to this. Through our participation, we shared how Xradar™ enhanced concrete scanning supports forensic engineering by providing non-destructive, high-precision insight into what lies beneath concrete surfaces.

Instead of relying on traditional intrusive testing methods like coring or hacking, Xradar™ allows for safer, faster, and clearer assessments, helping engineers identify reinforcement, voids, cracks, and other hidden elements without damaging the structure. This kind of visibility is critical in both forensic investigations and proactive maintenance works.

We had visitors from consultants, government representatives to industry players. Through these conversations, a shared commitment was highlighted to build and maintain infrastructure that is safer, smarter, and longer lasting. Many shared their site challenges and concerns, giving us valuable insights into how we can continue to improve the way we assess and strengthen structures.

We’re proud to be part of Malaysia’s growing forensic engineering community and to continue driving innovation through technology that makes construction safer and more sustainable.
